New Rural Academy is a First for Yorkshire |

The Academy, the first of its kind, has been developed by Askham Bryan College, Craven College, Lantra (the Sector Skills Council for the Environmental and Land-based sector) and York St John University. |

Flybe - Pilot Sponsorship 2008 |

Flybe is offering a part sponsorship scheme for trainee pilots, making a ‘substantial contribution’ towards the cost of a full JAA Integrated Course conducted by Cabair at Cranfield. Applicants must meet the following requirements: - Be able to demonstrate clear commitment, loyalty and a passion to fly
- Have the unrestricted right to work in the UK
- Have an absolute minimum of two A levels to include Mathematics and Physics (or a science based subject)
- Hold, or be capable of holding, a UK issued JAA Class 1 Medical Certificate
- Have no more than 60 hours of previous flying experience

Did you know that the Yorkshire Air Ambulances rely solely on the generosity of individuals and sponsors to help save lives? In fact, as a charity that receives no government funding, it needs over £3,600 per day to keep its helicopter and highly trained paramedics in the air - that's the equivalent of £1.4m every single year. It's a tall order but with over 1000 incidents requiring emergency air assistance each year, many lives have been saved across our region. |

Students at The Aviation Academy paid £2 for a rare opportunity to ‘dress down’ in support of Comic Relief Red Nose Day. Unlike many Colleges of Further Education, the students at The Academy dress in a smart, professional manner – dark suits, white shirt or blouse and tie or scarf – whilst attending college and following rules and regulations. |
